How Organic Hair Care Products Are Different?
If you are aware of the organic food products and are using them in your daily life, then you should also consider going for organic hair care. You surely want to use products that will not harm your hair or your body as well as to the environment. This is exactly what organic products offer.
However, nowadays there is a common practice among product manufacturers to use certain words such as organic, natural, chemical free or environment friendly in their product promotion and on their packaging labels. It becomes extremely important for us to know what actually goes inside the products that we use. This becomes all the more significant since you are paying much higher rates for organic products.
An ideal organic hair care product is the one that has all the botanical ingredients created by nature. The essences and extracts from plants and flowers come under the qualified category. Always go through the list of ingredients that are listed on the package of the hair care product. There are some very harsh and dangerous chemicals that are used in many hair care and cosmetic products. These ingredients are poisonous and even carcinogenic (cancer causing). The organic hair care products are free from such dangerous ingredients. Some of the most common ingredients that are used in non-organic products are listed below:
Propylene Glycol – This ingredient works as a moisture retaining content in skin and hair care products which prevents the escape of moisture. This strong skin irritant can cause kidney damage and liver problems.
Sodium laureth sulfate – This ingredient may cause drying and may be the root of harmful carcinogenic formations of dioxins and nitrates to form in shampoos. While just a single use of shampoo containing SLES may cause large amount of nitrates entering in the blood stream. The ingredient may prove irritating to the scalp and may even cause hair loss.
Other than the above mentioned ingredients, there are some parabens that are widely used in the hair and skin care industry that have proved to be highly toxic. These parabens cause many allergic reactions.
Naturally when you buy hair care products that are safe and beneficial for you and the environment, they are going to cost you much higher compared to non-organic products. However using organic hair care products is more cost effective since you would not be paying for the other damages that may be caused if you use chemically produced products.
