green planetThese days we are more concerned than ever, about buying products for our home and our families, that are safe and chemical free. One of the biggest industries we pay attention to is the organic food industry. All things from vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs, juices and more can be grown organically. What constitutes something as organic? It must be grown without fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones, and should also not contain preservatives during packaging or transporting.

Typically, you’ll pay a little more for organically grown goods, but the product is usually worth the money. Organic grown vegetables and meats usually taste better than those with hormones or fertilizers, because they contain only the natural ingredients they’ve grown. Tomatoes at your local grocery store for example may be large at red, but grown organically, they’ll have much better flavor, as well as vitamins and antioxidants.

Health and beauty care is another huge market for handmade and organically derived products. Any way you look at it, it’s almost always better to use a skin care product that’s made with natural ingredients, than it is to use one full of chemicals. Natural products don’t take the place of modern medicine, but for your basic soaps and lotions, buying organic or natural ingredient products is the way to go. Often times too, rashes and other minor skin conditions often clear up when switching to natural bath and beauty products.

In a nut shell, if you can afford to pay the difference, it’s usually better to buy organic. Sometimes the price may be about the same, sometimes it might be a little higher… but the peace of mind alone in buying products that aren’t full of pesticides and preservatives should be enough to win the wager.
