An Organic Garden Helps Keep the Environment Clean and Safe

Having and maintaining an organic garden may sound difficult to you, but it is not so. Our ancestors used to do farming without the use of any man-made substances. But today we have become much dependent on chemicals for all our needs.
Switching to organic garden is a great option. It is eco-friendly and also good for our health. It protects our children and pets from the harmful effects of chemicals. The natural organic garden uses everything natural i.e. pesticides, fertilizers, seeds etc. In an organic garden you have to make maximum utilization of natural resources.
For organic gardening, you should choose plants that can ideally be grown in your area depending on the terrain, soil, temperature, rainfall etc. Always have a wide variety of plants in your garden as that will attract a number of friendly birds and insects. Use only organic seeds that are free from chemicals and have not been genetically modified. You should plant the saplings very carefully, with plants requiring less sunlight in shade and those requiring sunlight for long hours in a sunny place. Few plants act as pest controllers. Keep this in mind and accordingly intersperse them with other plants.
You should add compost to your garden soil to make it more fertile. You can either buy compost or make it at home. To make compost, you can use your kitchen waste. Once your garden is ready, you will face problems like pests, weeds etc. Use only organic pesticides like hot peppers sprays, alliums, soap solution etc., to treat pests. There are many natural ways to reduce pests like welcoming natural predators in your garden. A water fountain in your garden can attract useful birds that feed on bugs and insects thus reducing pest population in your garden. It is better to pull out the weeds as soon as you see them. You can also spread plastic sheet in between plants to prevent weeds from growing.
Crop rotation is also necessary as it increases soil fertility. It also reduces weed and pest problems. The most important thing for a good garden is water. Make sure you give adequate water to your plants.
Once you follow these tips, you will get compliments from everyone for your beautiful organic garden.
